It is my belief that counselling can be a very powerful tool for self-discovery, understanding emotions, feelings and actions. It can also increase awareness not just of ourselves as individuals but in relation to others too.

My Person-Centred approach to counselling puts you and your emotions at the centre of all the work we undertake, helping us to form a strong relationship based on trust, understanding and self-growth.

Whatever reasons bring you to counselling, I’d be privileged to be alongside you.

Counselling Services

Coming into the office provides a safe, therapeutic space where you can communicate freely and confidentially. There will always be a brew or a cold drink on offer to help you settle in, and a bowl of biscuits is a staple part of the office decor.

The office is conveniently located behind Dukinfield Town Hall, in Greater Manchester, close to Ashton-Under-Lyne Railway as well as several bus routes. It is also close to the M60 motorway and has free on-site parking for ease of access.

I understand that coming into the office isn’t always possible or the best option for everyone. If this is the case, I offer remote Counselling sessions either over the phone, or via video call, allowing you access to therapy wherever you are.

As a lover of the outdoors and a true believer in the therapeutic benefits of being in nature, I also offer walking therapy sessions.

Whilst this option may not be for everyone, it gives a chance to loosen the formal feel that some may experience when sitting face-to-face in therapy.

Thanks to my two Spaniels, Lottie and Leo, I have a choice of set routes in mind to fit the timing of a 60 minute session, and to ensure the route isn’t too strenuous. All I ask is that you bring comfy walking shoes, weather appropriate attire and a shared optimism that the British weather will be on our side.

Sand Tray Therapy is a creative way of working and can be incorporated as part of your face-to-face sessions. It offers a way to explore topics for people who are struggling to know where to begin or for topics that are traumatic to approach.

Sand Tray Therapy can be a very powerful tool but one that is not used by many counsellors. I also regularly add new additions to my sand tray collection, to ensure a wide range of symbols that we can encorporate in our therapeutic work.

As a Counsellor with over 2,000 hours of experience across a wide variety of client needs and 13 years of experience working in mental health, I am also completing Clinical Supervision Training. Whilst I complete the latter part of my training course, I am currently offering reduced fee sessions.

Working within the modality of Person-Centred therapy, my areas of specialism are life-limiting illness, chronic pain, terminal illness and approaching death, bereavement, addiction, trauma and relationship work, and also working with children in pre and post-bereavement.

I believe that I am a good judge of when its best to be assertive, to offer challenge and to highlight blind spots, whilst maintaining care, compassion and a supportive lens in our work. I also see Supervision as an ever-moulding relationship, whereby regular reviews every 6 months will allow us to fine tune what you need from the space and from me as a peer, colleague and mentor.
