Clinical Supervision

Supporting You To Support Your Clients

As a Counsellor with over 2,000 hours of experience across a wide variety of client needs and 13 years of experience working in mental health, I am also completing Clinical Supervision Training. Whilst I complete the latter part of my training course, I am currently offering reduced fee sessions.

I am a strong advocate for a Triangulated approach to Supervision where there is an equal balance of Restorative work (Support, confidence building and personal struggles, for example, imposter syndrome or feeling de-skilled), Formative work (Sharing and increasing knowledge base, identifying areas of CPD and developing your inner Supervisor) and Normative work (upholding professional standards and exploration of issues that may challenge client practice). I believe that a combination of all three allows for a supportive, honest and collaborative space to enrich your approach to client work and ongoing commitment to the helping profession.

I believe that I am a good judge of when its best to be assertive, to offer challenge and to highlight blind spots, whilst maintaining care, compassion and a supportive lens in our work. I also see Supervision as an ever-moulding relationship, whereby regular reviews every 6 months will allow us to fine tune what you need from the space and from me as a peer, colleague and mentor.

Why Choose Alleviate?

My areas of specialism are life-limiting illness, chronic pain, terminal illness and approaching death, bereavement, addiction, trauma and relationship work, and also working with children in pre and post bereavement. I have gained experience across these topics during my 13 years of working within mental health services, such as Psychiatric intensive care units, Inpatient wards, Higher education settings, GP surgeries, Wellbeing Centres and Hospice care.

I currently offer sessions both in person at my office in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, and also online.

Feel free to get in touch if my page has left you with any questions or if you would like to book a free 30-minute initial call, where we can explore our suitability to work together.

Client Testimonials

  • L.R.

Beth helped me to talk about the black cloud that followed me around everyday. I have learnt techniques that make the cloud a light grey now and I hope in time it won't even be there. Hope isn't something I had before working with Beth.

  • S.J.

Beth's kind and caring ways have given me the chance to start over and to know that I can find purpose and meaning again.

  • F.D.

It sounds weird to say but Beth is just totally human in our sessions, I always thought a Counsellor would be a professional in a suit who wrote notes and was uptight but Beth is warm, calm and kind. I can be in a right emotional mess in sessions but I come away with a clearer head, and I've learnt how to ground myself outside of sessions too.
